The answer is in: Duh! Winter settled in full force the week before Christmas leaving over 10 inches of snow over town. The wet, heavy snow downed trees and power lines, leaving thousands in the region without electricity for days. Snow and below freezing temperatures returned for the New Year and haven't let up in the first week of the year. Looks like January is going to take care of the bugs next spring!
I've set up a gallery for wintry scenes around Elkhorn City, contact us through the contact form if you have any photos you'd like to share! The shots in there now were taken the morning after the first snow hit. No power anywhere.
