Join Us for River Clean-Up in Elkhorn City

In conjunction with ORSANCO's Annual River Sweep of the Ohio River we will
be having a clean-up to help stop solid waste from even making it to the
Ohio! Big Sandy Watershed Watch, Big Sandy River Basin Coalition, and
Elkhorn City Heritage Council are working together to have a great day.

Come join us by meeting by 10 AM at the Elkhorn City City Hall on
Saturday,  June 20th.  The City Building, on Patty Loveless Boulevard, is
on the right side of the road going towards the Breaks Interstate Park
just before the bridge that crosses the Russell Fork.  Coming from the VA
side, going past The Breaks Park it will be on the left after you cross
the bridge going into Elkhorn City.

We will then move a short distance to Carson Island, the head of the Pine
Mountain Trail Head Area.  This area is canoe/kayak friendly and welcome.
Water conditions permitting we will do both sides of the river. Lunch will
be served between 12 and 1PM.

We want to thank EQT who will be providing lunch for all participants,
ORSANCO for T-shirts and the Pike County Solid Waste Authority for
providing trash bags and pick-up.

Please wear comfortable and weather wise clothes and shoes/boots, bug
spray and it is always helpful if you bring your own work gloves.
